  • Witmart.com is an internet marketplace for people around the globe to buy and sell non-physical products and intellectual services. Employers, individuals, or businesses in need of skilled help for either short or long-term jobs can post their job requirements to the site. Depending on the job type (Contest or Contract), Providers will submit bids that will include either the completed work or their qualifications to complete the work.

     

    For Employers, Witmart provides a global online base with access to millions of independent Service Providers with specialized skills. For Providers, Witmart offers a source of part-time and full-time work opportunities through the internet. Together with our sister-site, zbj.com, we have more than 7 million registered users making us the largest internet “crowdsourcing” business in the world.

    1. Fill out a short registration form including a valid email address, password, username. Click here to register now. Please note that your username cannot be Witmart, ZBJ, zhubajie, witmart, admin, administrator, root, user, test, or ZhuBaJie.

Membership Information

  • A witmart User is someone who has a formal Witmart account with a registered e-mail address, a user name and sign in password. Only if you are a Witmart User, you can post job, place bid and use other services we provided to our users.


    When you sign up as a formal user, you agree to Witmart Terms of Services, including the cancellation and refund policy for the payments and transactions of our website.

Employer: Posting Jobs

  • To post a job:

     

    1. Click "Post a Job" on the Witmart homepage or on the navigation menu at the top of the pages.

     

    2. Select a job category and sub-category.

     

    3. Enter the job title.

     

    4. Describe the job requirements. Be sure to include as much detail as possible.

     

    5. Attach any necessary files. It is helpful (but not required) to upload an example of the work you’d like done.

     

    6. Choose your job type (Contest or Contract). Read about job type here

     

    7. Select any optional descriptive features you find important. These may include style, colors, word counts, file formats and more.

     

    8. Choose the reward amount for your job. Specific types of jobs have a reward minimum (i.e. a logo design contest job offers a minimum reward of $99).

     

    9. Select the upgrade features you would like.

     

    10. Enter your phone number (optional). This is intended for customer service purposes only. Witmart will never give your personal information to third parties without your consent. Please read our Privacy Policy for details.

     

    11. Click “next” to review the job details and make any necessary changes.

     

    12. To make a payment to your account, enter your payment information and click the "Prepay and Post Job" button.

    - Contract: Providers submit their qualifications to complete your job. You hire a the Provider that matches your needs best. Contract jobs are typically long-term projects such as programming, translation, copywriting, etc.

     

    - Contest: Providers submit finished work based on your job requirements. You select the best and award the contest to a winner. Contest jobs are typically short-term projects such as logo design, graphic design, name creation, greeting card design, etc.

  • When you post your job, you are required to include certain information, including job title, category, description, any files that may be required to complete the work and the duration of the job posting. 

     

    Job Title

    Clearly describe what you need as simply as possible. A simple and straightforward job title will attract the greatest number of Providers, since the title offers a quick introduction to the job.  Maximum length: 200 characters.



     

    Job Category

    Select the job category and sub-category, so that your job can attract bids from Providers with the right skills. For example, if you need a company logo designed, select “Design & Multimedia” - “Logo Design” for the job category and sub-category.

     

    Required Skills

    You may choose specific skills that are required to complete your job. By selecting these skills, Providers will know whether they are qualified to complete your job before reading the description.

     

    Job Description

    Describe your job details and requirements. A clear, concise summary of all relevant information will allow Providers to better respond to your needs. Maximum length: 4000 characters.



    Attached Files

    You can upload any files you think will help Providers understand what you need and enable them to provide a more detailed design or solution. You may only upload 5 attachments, Maximum size of each file: 20 MB. 


     

    Duration of Bid

    The period of time in which Providers can place a bid for your job.  Maximum duration: 30 days.

  • If you post a contract job, use the drop-down menu to select the price range that you are willing to pay for the job. For a contest job, you can enter a specific amount you are willing to pay however the reward must be at least $5. Remember, the budget you set in the beginning does not lock you into a price range. Providers can propose higher or lower budgets based on their own estimates. Your posted budget is a guideline: the final reward can be decided between you and your chosen Provider.

  • When you post a Contract job, a $5 non-refundable job listing fee will be charged.  We charge this fee for two reasons:

     

    1) It represents the Employer's commitment to the job;

    2) It helps ensure quality jobs for Witmart Providers.

    Witmart currently offers five types of upgrades:

     

    - Private Job: Your job will be hidden from search engines such as Google and Baidu. Only signed-in users at Witmart can view the content of your job. (One time fee - $29.00).


    * This upgrade feature works best if you purchase it at the time of publishing your job: your job title and description will be completely hidden from search engines & unregistered users won't be able to see the detailed job description. You may choose to purchase this feature after publishing your job, but search engines may have already indexed your job, hence your job won't be completely hidden. 

    - Highlight: Highlighted jobs are placed at the top of the job list when the job status is open (One time fee - $19.00).

    - Language Support :Request Witmart Service Team to translate the job description between major languages (e.g. English and Chinese)(One time fee -$59.00)

Providers are unable to see or bid on pending jobs.  Witmart will keep your job in this state for a one-month period after which the job will be closed.  If you want to pay the listing fee for the job before this happens:

    3) Select the "Employer" tab

    4) Click the "Job Drafts" link under "Job Posts" in the left sidebar

    5) Select the job for which you wish to pay the listing fee.

  • Whether the job can be cancelled depends on the circumstances.

    Situations where cancellation is allowed:

    1. The job did not receive any bid, or, as a Witmart Assurance Contest, the minimum guaranteed number of designers is not reached by the time the open bidding process ends. The job may be cancelled and you can retrieve the full amount of the prepaid reward.
    2. If the job is a Contest that has already received bid(s), or if the job is a Contract that has selected a Provider and reward has been repaid, the job may be cancelled. You can retrieve the prepaid reward after deducting a 20% (minimum $5) service fee. For Contract jobs, the service fee will be based on the amount agreed upon by both Employer and the selected Provider.

    Please do note that we do not encourage nor accept prepayment of reward that exceeds the value agreed upon by the Employer and the Provider. Any amount prepaid will be considered as the amount to be transacted. We reserve the right to deduct service fee based on the prepaid amount in the event of cancellation of job or reduction of work scope. (We strongly advise that you only prepay the reward after you have negotiated with the Provider and agreed upon the amount).

    Situations where cancellation is not allowed:

    1. The job is a Witmart Assurance Contest, and the bidding period has not ended.
    2. The job is a Witmart Assurance Contest, and the minimum guaranteed number of designers is reached when the bidding period has ended.
    3. You have already obtained source file or work result from the Provider.

  • We may need to call you in situations that require your immediate attention (for instance, making sure that a job is awarded on time).

     

    Occasionally, an issue will arise that is time-sensitive. In that case, we’ll call you to alert you to the situation and resolve the matter.

     

    You may also enter your phone number so that it can be verified by us. If your phone number has been verified, a phone-verified symbol will be displayed on your profile page. This will show other users that you’re trustworthy and reliable.

     

    Witmart.com will only use your personal information for Customer Service purposes. We do not provide your personal information to third parties without your consent.

  • Assurance Contests are currently only available for Logo Design jobs. A minimum number of designers is guaranteed by Witmart. To post an Assurance Contest job, you would need to:

     

    1) Post the job description in Chinese or Chinese + English.

    2) Include further descriptions in your logo design requirements, such as the name to be included in the logo, slogan, and the industry involved.

    3) Refrain from posting additional requirements in the design, such as requesting for multiple logos. After a job is posted, we will verify it within 24 hours. If there are additional requirements not within the scope of an Assurance Contest, the Assurance Contest will automatically switch to normal Contest.

     

    If your job is switched to a normal Contest but you would still like to post an Assurance Contest, you could click on Edit Job Description to modify the job requirements so that they comply with an Assurance Contest. You can then click on Purchase Upgrade Features to upgrade your job to an Assurance Contest (upgrading to Assurance Contest is free of charge).

Logo Store - Employer

  • You can browse and select the ready-made Logo displayed by the Logo store, and then press button "Buy" to place an order and prepay it. After that, you need to fill out what the Logo need to add, including the business name and the ready-made modification requests. There will be a job order generating after you finished the payment and the Logo modified by the Provider will be displayed in the "Workplace" of the order for you. After your final confirmation, the prepaid balance will be released to the Provider.

     

    You need to be aware that within 14 days after the Provider uploads the source file, you must respond to the Provider to confirm payment release requests. Otherwise, the job is deemed to be abandoned by the Employer. In case of abandon of a job by Employer, it is deemed that the Employer has granted Witmart carte blanche to deal with the job anyway it deems fit, including the release of your prepaid balance.

    If you need to modify the original design, you can negotiate with a designer for an amount and “tip” an additional amount to that designer.

    2) If the Provider has not yet begun to do customization modifications, you can cancel the order and apply for a refund, Witmart will charge 20% of your payment as service fees and credit the rest money back to where you made the payment in the first place.

     

    3) If the Provider can not be reached within 5 working days after you place your order, you can cancel the order and get 100% refund.

Contract Job - Employer: Awarding Jobs

  • You may communicate with Providers using the private message.

     

    In the button of every bid, there is a “message” button. Employers may click the “Message” button to bring up a chat window, allowing them to communicate with Providers directly. At same time, Employers and Providers can also check and reply the private message through their email.

    Note: Communication out of Witmart is not forbidden, but the risks arose are only taken by employer and provider.

  • You may set your job's biding time when posting the job. Max bidding time varies for different job categories and types. In general, the bidding time can be between 7 and 30 working days. For logo design contest jobs, max bidding time is 15 working days .

    In addition, employer may extend the bidding time for 7 days free of charge as long as no bid/provider is chosen/hired. The link to extend bidding time is placed on the right side of the job page.

  • Employers usually receive bids from Providers within hours of the job being approved and posted on the Witmart site. You will be notified whenever a Provider places a bid on your job.

    1) Sign in to your account.

    2) Click "My Witmart" in the top right corner.

    3) Click the “Employer” tab on the navigation bar.

    4) Scroll down to the list of Active Jobs and select the job with bids that you’d like to see.

    5) Scroll down until you find the Bid List. Here you can view all of the bids for that particular job.

    6) To view bids on another job that you’ve posted, navigate back to the list of Active Jobs and select the job you want to view.

  • Employers generally receive bids from Providers within hours of the job being approved and posted on our website. If your posted job has no bids, it might be in the wrong category; you may need to provide a more detailed job description; or the bid budget may be too low. If you need help identifying the problem, you can contact our Customer Support Team directly to get help.

    We would also recommend you to:

    • Check out other Employers’ feedback about the Provider’s past work.
    • Review the Provider’s past work results.

    If you are posting a job as Witmart Assurance Contest, the Invite Providers function enables you to invite Providers whose design styles you like. You can check out their design portfolios on Witmart.

  • Once your job passes “Awarding” phase and enters “Awarding Overdue”, we will send a reminder email to you for follow-up actions.

     

    1) If the job is a Contract, and there is no action after ”Awarding Overdue” for 7 days, it will be deemed that you have abandoned the job and we will close the job accordingly.

     

    2) If the job is a Contest, and there is no action after ”Awarding Overdue” for 7 days, you could submit application for refund within a time limit (please refer to Refund and Cancellation Policy for refund application).

     

    3) If the job is an Assurance Contest, and the number of bids promised has been reached, yet there is no action after ”Awarding Overdue” for 7 days, it is deemed that you have abandoned the job. No refund is allowed and we will handle the job accordingly.

Contract Job - Employer: Managing Jobs

  • Once you have awarded your job to a Provider, you’ll find all the tools you need to manage the job effectively through the Workplace.

     

    • Use the message tab to communicate with your Providers.

    • Create the Work Agreement and update it if there are changes.

    • Check the Provider's work progress.

    • Upload and share documents and images.

    • Release prepaid funds when the job is fully done and accepted by you.

  • The Workplace is an online space where Employers and Providers can work together safely and effectively. Through the Workplace, parties can "talk" with each other in real time to create agreements, set milestones, share files and store important communication.  Providers can demonstrate their progress at all times: Employers can prepay rewards and release payment when the job is complete and accepted.

  • After the Workplace has been established, the Employer can only unilaterally decide to cancel the contract with a Provider under two conditions:
     

    -The Provider has not responded to any of the Employer’s or Witmart customer service staff’s messages after more than seven days of getting hired, and

    -The Provider has not started working on the job.

     

    If a work agreement and/or milestones have been established, the Employer has prepaid the reward, and the Provider has already started working, the Employer cannot unilaterally terminate the contract with the Provider.
     

    -If the Employer wants to terminate the contract with the Provider, he/she should contact Witmart customer service staff as soon as possible. The Employer also bears the responsibility to inform the Provider of his/her intention to terminate the contract. Only after both parties have reached agreement on the payment of reward and the arrangement of work deliverables can the contract between the Employer and the Provider be terminated.

    -In case of disagreement between the Employer and the Provider, any one party can file an application for Dispute. Witmart customer service staff will then assist in resolving the Dispute through Investigation, Mediation, and Arbitration.
     

    In the case of termination of the contract with a Provider or cancellation of a job, service fee (20% of escrowed reward) paid to Witmart will not be refunded.

    1. The Employer can still try to select the winning Provider(s).

    4. The Employer can choose to discontinue this job. If so, the Employer needs to contact Witmart as soon as possible and Witmart will deal with job accordingly.

    2. If the job is a Contest that has already received bid(s), or if the job is a Contract that has selected a Provider and reward has been repaid, the job may be cancelled. For Contract jobs, the service fee will be based on the amount agreed upon by both Employer and the selected Provider.

    Please do note that we do not encourage nor accept prepayment of reward that exceeds the value agreed upon by the Employer and the Provider. Any amount prepaid will be considered as the amount to be transacted. We reserve the right to deduct service fee based on the prepaid amount in the event of cancellation of job or reduction of work scope. (We strongly advise that you only prepay the reward after you have negotiated with the Provider and agreed upon the amount).

    Situations where cancellation is not allowed:

    1. The job is a Witmart Assurance Contest, and the bidding period has not ended.
    2. The job is a Witmart Assurance Contest, and the minimum guaranteed number of designers is reached when the bidding period has ended.
    3. You have already obtained source file or work result from the Provider.

    The issue is little tricky because the rejection may happen with credit card which previously accepted and worked properly then suddenly stopped working or worse payment will not be accepted even if user changes or switches to any other credit cards.


    There are many possible causes that can result in such credit card rejected error and PayPal doesn’t give specific explanation on how to resolve the problem and make the payment goes through processing again with the same or different credit card. Here’s some explanations and possible resolutions that suggested by users on Internet.


    Credit Card Is linked or Associated with a PayPal Account

    Many believes the credit card is not accepted by PayPal when using it not signing into PayPal account is that the credit card is already been used in a PayPal account. If you’re using a credit card that’s linked or assigned to a PayPal account try login to PayPal during payment process. You can change the source of fund to make the payment after logged in to use credit card instead of PayPal balance.


    Credit Card Is Previously Used in PayPal Account or Assigned in Closed PayPal Account

    PayPal remembers a credit card details even when it’s already been removed from the account. The information also been remembered even if PayPal account which linked to the credit card is closed and deleted. In this case try another credit card or assigned the credit card to a PayPal account and pay with account logged in.


    PayPal Limit on Non-Member Credit Card Usage

    According to PayPal source there is a limit based on the number of times the amount of the transactions the type of merchandise being sold that a credit card can be used within the system without having to verify ownership by opening an account. The restriction is for security and fraud protection reasons. There is no workaround to this limitation but you should be able to use another credit card. If there is problem try using another email address. Else register an PayPal account.


    Credit Card or Email Address Raises Flag in the Transaction

    Closely link to reasons above where some part of the transaction raises flag on the server that stop the payment. Two possible flags are on credit card or email address. Try changing either credit card or e-mail address or both when attempting to pay again.


    Cookies Problem

    Try using another web browser and/or delete cookies and attempt to pay with PayPal gateway using credit card again.


    Credit Card Is Not Confirmed in Account

    Contrary to some of the reasons above if the credit card has been linked to an account but not yet confirmed try to complete all credit card information such as Card Verification Number or Security Code and confirm the card by entering the PayPal code shown on the credit card statement on special refundable charge by PayPal.

    In all case the problem won’t arise if you add the credit card to PayPal account and use it as funding source to pay the transaction through PayPal account.

Disputes

  • To submit a dispute:
    1) Click the “Report Violation” link in the appropriate job or job bid
    2) Enter your username and email address
    3) Give a detailed explanation of the dispute or the violation you want to report
    4) Click the “Submit” button.

    You can also contact our Customer Support Team directly to report a dispute or violation of Terms of Service.
    We’ll send you an email confirming that we have received your dispute report and will provide you with a solution in a timely manner.

  • 1) Confirmation: upon receiving dispute claims, witmart will ask all involved parties to confirm and clarify the dispute. We will also facilitate the communications and mediation in between.

     

    2) Mediation: the involved parties will have 2 weeks for mediation. In case a mutual agreement can be reached, witmart will facilitate and take necessary actions accordingly. Agreement made shall not violate the Terms of Services of our website, and not violate any laws and regulations in concern.

     

    3) Escalation: in case that no agreement can be reached in “Mediation”, the dispute is escalated to witmart for investigation and decision.

     

    4) Investigation: witmart will ask both parties to clarify their augment and claims in written, with supporting documents submitted for review and verification.

     

    5) Decision: in the manner of fairness and integrity, witmart will make a decision based on verified information provided by both parties. This decision will also be facilitated by witmart and the dispute will be closed. No party shall make another claim on the same case.

     

    6) 3rd party arbitration: If any party does not accept the decision mentioned above, he/she can report to a 3rd party arbitration institution who has proper jurisdiction authorities over the case. Witmart will cooperate and facilitate the arbitration process with the 3rd party institution.
